While MJBizCon fills the daytime with panels and meetings, the culture of the industry truly comes alive after hours. Throughout MJBiz week, NuWu transformed into a central gathering space hosting performances, media events, live activations, and moments that brought cannabis culture off the convention floor and into real time.

NuWu After Hours wasn’t about exclusivity. It was about access, collaboration, and creating spaces where the industry could connect authentically.

Media Day at NuWu: Setting the Tone Before the Expo

MJBizCon week kicked off early with Beard Bros Media Day at NuWu. The event offered approved media and creators early access to the brands, people, and stories driving the industry forward.

From interviews and live podcast recording to informal networking, Media Day positioned NuWu as a platform for storytelling not just retail. It set the tone for a week rooted in connection, access, and conversation.

Before the expo floor opened, the conversations had already begun.

Live Performances & Cultural Moments

As the week progressed, NuWu After Hours brought major energy to MJBizCon nightlife. On Thursday, December 4, legendary Houston rapper Mike Jones took the stage, delivering a performance that turned the venue into a packed, high-energy cultural moment.

Later in the week, when Jerome Baker Designs teamed up with Jimmy Kimmel Live for a special activation in the NuWu Courtyard during MJBizCon week, it was the kind of crossover moment that defines where cannabis culture is headed blending media, artistry, and community in one space.

Adding to the mix was Joint Wars, an interactive rolling competition that brought entertainment, craftsmanship, and friendly competition to the forefront.

Events like Joint Wars showcased the appeal of participatory activations — moments designed not just for viewing, but for engagement, content creation, and shared experience.

From Convention to Community

Throughout MJBizCon week, NuWu After Hours became more than a destination it became a connector. Artists, operators, media, brands, and attendees found common ground through live music, conversation, and culture-driven programming.

Community is built in the spaces that come alive after the doors close.
